Animal Concierge

Fun Fur Pets is looking for 2 Animal Concierge to join our 23 person strong team. Primarily the 530am – 1pm, 6:00am-1pm, and 4:00pm-10:30pm shifts. We are located on 1404 Green Bay Street in La Crosse.

IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU HAVE LOTS OF COMMON SENSE, ENJOY THE CHALLENGE OF PROBLEM SOLVING SITUATIONS AND LOVE TO HUSTLE – THIS MIGHT BE THE JOB FOR YOU, READ BELOW.

PLEASE NOTE: We are open 5:30am -10:30pm every day of the week and we have an overnight shift of 10:30pm -6am, we are open 365 day a year – never closed.

Responsibilities:

Must love dogs! (We also board other domesticated animals, including, but not limited to: Kitties, Pigs, Ferrets, and Bunnies)

  • Clean up Pee, Poop, Vomit and other miscellaneous things caused by animals.
  • Interact with the human and pet clients at drop off and pick up
  • Feed, water and potty all the pups in our boarding area
  • Interact with all breeds of dogs
  • Be calm and understand the power of positive energy
  • Lead pack walks inside our facility
  • Clean all equipment, toys, dishes, suites, floors, etc. Cleaning is a big part of what we do.
  • Use common sense to solve problems as it relates to dogs in our care
  • Understand or learn about canine body language and how to make the dogs comfortable in meeting you and having you lead them into our facility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50pds, have great hand eye coordination, solid physical status.
  • Dogs will jump on you, wrap the leash around your legs, etc. so you must not have any physical limitations or issues that could be aggravated by this type of work.
  • If you are addicted to your phone or call in sick frequently this is not the job for you!
  • We pay for performance so if you are a hard worker who takes direction well, are quick on your feet and have initiative to make your job great then this may be the job for you.
  • We love to have fun and take our job of caring for peoples pets seriously. Safety and security are a priority while enjoying all we do.
  • We are a team and communication is key in keeping the operations going. Must be able to utilize a walkie talkie effectively.
  • Have a smart phone with our Homebase app in order to be in communication with the team and be of assistance to co-workers.


Employees will receive online employee training in addition to hands-on learning and have the opportunity for a raise upon each online training course completion every two weeks during their 60-day probationary period.

Pay range: $9.00/hr to $11.00/hr

Front Desk Receptionist

Fun Fur Pets in La Crosse, WI is looking for 1 or 2 Receptionists to join our 22-person strong team. We are located on 1404 Green Bay Street in La Crosse. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and engaged. PLEASE NOTE: The position is Mon, Thurs & Fri and every other Sat 1pm-6:30pm. Shifts can be broken into a more part time position but a minimum of 2 shifts a week are required. Responsibilities:
  • This position is very fast paced; you must be an excellent MULTI-TASKER—there will be 80 dogs leaving in a 2-hour period that you must check out, call for, and collect payment for, all while answering the phone, responding to emails, etc.
  • Must have great customer service skills, know how to defuse a situation and how to communicate effectively via in person, over the phone, and email.
  • The lobby must be kept clean and wiped down frequently, all products displayed appropriately.
  • Must love dogs! (We also board other domesticated animals, including, but not limited to: Kitties, Pigs, Ferrets, and Bunnies).
  • Care for the cats and other small animals in rooms near the lobby, including scooping litter and giving medication.
  • If you are addicted to your phone, or call in sick frequently this is not the job for you! We pay for performance so if you are a hard worker who takes direction well, are quick on your feet and have initiative to make your job great then this may be the job for you.

Team Coach Animal Concierge

Bring your dog to work? That’s right! Fun Fur Pets in La Crosse, WI is looking for a Communications Concierge to join our 22-person strong team. We are located at 1404 Green Bay Street in La Crosse. A Communications Concierge must be friendly, upbeat, positive, and attentive to our client’s needs, even while working under pressure—and, upon successful completion of training, you can even bring YOUR dog to work with you! Overview: As a Communication Concierge, you will help your teammates to succeed and encourage them to be their best. The hours are somewhat flexible but must be mid day into evening (11-6 or noon-7pm) Every other Saturday. Helping staff with customer service, life, communication, and employee interaction skills. You will lead and coach with accountability and compassion. At Fun Fur Pets leading by example is very important, no one sits in an office—not even the owner. We believe it’s everyone’s duty to care for the health, safety, and comfort of the animal guests in our facility. Core Functions & Success Metrics:
  • Help to train and encourage others in customer service and communication with guests and other staff.
  • You will coach team members with accountability and compassion.
  • Use common sense and compassion to help resolve staff problems.
  • Coach and assist staff with Job efficiency.
  • Follow safety protocols for the dogs and staff.
  • Must be a team player with great communications skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team atmosphere.
  • Responsible, reliable, with a positive, can-do attitude that is excited to teach and learn.
  • Use common sense and safety to solve problems as it relates to staff and dogs in our care.
  • Ensure that staff are always taking dog safety and well being as being a top priority.
  • Desire to provide the absolute best experience for the pets in our care and their owners.

  • Maintain confidentiality in Fun Fur Pets practices and all aspects of our clients and business.
  • Have the ability to take and receive both positive and negative feedback.
You will be responsible for cleaning up pee, poop, vomit, and other miscellaneous things having to do with the animals.
  • Maintain control of a large group of dogs in play.
  • Clean all equipment, toys, dishes, suites, floors, including mopping, sweeping, trash removal and more. Cleaning is a big part of what we do.
  • Accurately retrieve and dispense food and medication and follow proper cleaning and storing of dishes and medications.
  • Understand & learn about canine body language and how to make pets comfortable in meeting you and having you lead them into our facility.
  • Respond to and resolve canine incidents and complete detailed and accurate reports.

Candidates who are successful in this position may have previous experience coaching individuals in a team environment—fitness instructor, team supervisor/manager, children’s daycare supervisor.

Job Types: Full-time
