Animal Concierge

Fun Fur Pets is looking for 2 Animal Concierge to join our 23 person strong team. Primarily the 530am – 1pm, 6:00am-1pm, and 4:00pm-10:30pm shifts. We are located on 1404 Green Bay Street in La Crosse.

PLEASE NOTE: We are open 5:30am -10:30pm every day of the week and we have an overnight shift of 10:30pm -6am, we are open 365 day a year – never closed.

Responsibilities:

Must love dogs! (We also board other domesticated animals, including, but not limited to: Kitties, Pigs, Ferrets, and Bunnies)

  • Clean up Pee, Poop, Vomit and other miscellaneous things caused by animals.
  • Interact with the human and pet clients at drop off and pick up
  • Feed, water and potty all the pups in our boarding area
  • Interact with all breeds of dogs
  • Be calm and understand the power of positive energy
  • Lead pack walks inside our facility
  • Clean all equipment, toys, dishes, suites, floors, etc. Cleaning is a big part of what we do.
  • Use common sense to solve problems as it relates to dogs in our care
  • Understand or learn about canine body language and how to make the dogs comfortable in meeting you and having you lead them into our facility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50pds, have great hand eye coordination, solid physical status.
  • Dogs will jump on you, wrap the leash around your legs, etc. so you must not have any physical limitations or issues that could be aggravated by this type of work.
  • If you are addicted to your phone or call in sick frequently this is not the job for you!
  • We pay for performance so if you are a hard worker who takes direction well, are quick on your feet and have initiative to make your job great then this may be the job for you.
  • We love to have fun and take our job of caring for peoples pets seriously. Safety and security are a priority while enjoying all we do.
  • We are a team and communication is key in keeping the operations going. Must be able to utilize a walkie talkie effectively.
  • Have a smart phone with our Homebase app in order to be in communication with the team and be of assistance to co-workers.


Pay range: $9.00/hr to $11.00/hr

Assistant Manager

Fun Fur Pets in La Crosse, WI is looking for an assistant manager to join our 23 person strong team. We are located on 1404 Green bay St. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff are following our standard operating procedures
  • Engage with our human and canine clientele
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities
  • Ensure that proper guidelines are followed for cleaning protocols
  • Filling in where needed in the facility
  • This is not a desk job, you will be on your feet for 5-7 hours a day.

Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Ideal candidate has worked in a service based industry
  • Must enjoy the company of animals
  • Have the philosophy of leading by example


Pay range: $15.00/hr to $18.00/hr

Team Coach Animal Concierge

Bring your dog to work? That’s right! Fun Fur Pets in La Crosse, WI is looking for a Communications Concierge to join our 22-person strong team. We are located at 1404 Green Bay Street in La Crosse. A Communications Concierge must be friendly, upbeat, positive, and attentive to our client’s needs, even while working under pressure—and, upon successful completion of training, you can even bring YOUR dog to work with you!

Overview:

As a Communication Concierge, you will help your teammates to succeed and encourage them to be their best. The hours are somewhat flexible but must be mid day into evening (11-6 or noon-7pm) Every other Saturday. Helping staff with customer service, life, communication, and employee interaction skills. You will lead and coach with accountability and compassion. At Fun Fur Pets leading by example is very important, no one sits in an office—not even the owner. We believe it’s everyone’s duty to care for the health, safety, and comfort of the animal guests in our facility.

Core Functions & Success Metrics:

  • Help to train and encourage others in customer service and communication with guests and other staff.
  • You will coach team members with accountability and compassion.
  • Use common sense and compassion to help resolve staff problems.
  • Coach and assist staff with Job efficiency.

You will be responsible for cleaning up pee, poop, vomit, and other miscellaneous things having to do with the animals.

  • Maintain control of a large group of dogs in play.
  • Clean all equipment, toys, dishes, suites, floors, including mopping, sweeping, trash removal and more. Cleaning is a big part of what we do.
  • Accurately retrieve and dispense food and medication and follow proper cleaning and storing of dishes and medications.
  • Understand & learn about canine body language and how to make pets comfortable in meeting you and having you lead them into our facility.
  • Respond to and resolve canine incidents and complete detailed and accurate reports.


Candidates who are successful in this position may have previous experience coaching individuals in a team environment—fitness instructor, team supervisor/manager, children’s daycare supervisor.

Pay range: $13.00/hr to $16.00/hr

Dog Trainer

Blaine Dog School will be opening June 1st and we are looking for a team of trainers to work with area dogs in creating better habits to be great companions to their humans.

Dog Trainer is responsible for the health, safety, and comfort of the animal guests in our facility.

PLEASE NOTE: We are open 6:30am-6:30pm, THIS POSITION IS FOR 3 TRAINERS IN BLAINE, MINNESOTA

Trainer Responsibilities:

Work with dogs on their basic manners and behavioral issues to make them a more compatible family member. We follow the LIMA theory in our training program, rewards always come first.

  • You will be responsible for cleaning up pee, poop, vomit, and other miscellaneous things caused by animals.
  • Lead pack walks inside our facility and outdoor play areas.
  • Use common sense to solve problems as it relates to dogs in our care.
  • Be proactive in making sure dogs are always in a clean and safe environment.
  • Accurately retrieve and dispense food and medication and follow proper cleaning and storing of feeding dishes and medications.
  • Respond to and resolve canine incidents and complete detailed and accurate incident reports.
  • Have basic customer service skills and be able to follow our safety protocols.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team atmosphere.
  • Responsible, reliable, with a positive, can-do attitude that is excited to learn.
  • Desire to provide the absolute best experience to our animal pets and their owners.

  • You must be able to work in a loud environment. You must be able to always hear the dogs and other staff members. (You will not be allowed to wear earbuds, headphones, earplugs, or anything that would interfere with your hearing.)
  • You will be required to stand, walk, sit, use your hands and fingers, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in order to handle dogs, serve customers, and clean the facility.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position includes significant sanitation tasks. Protective gear is provided but you will be working with chemicals including bleach, etc.
